Her story is not a pretty one and you can definitely see the dramatic changes in her physical appearance. And I am only here to bring more awareness. Only forewarning of what you will find especially if you choose to dig a bit deeper and do your due diligence. Her story deserves to be spread to bring awareness and also show that having a real support system to help you can move more mountains than you think. She deserves to be heard and understood.

If you go to Google and type “Alexis Lorenze” so many different links come up about this young woman. I’ve included two of them because you can literally go and search. She’s on Instagram as well. But how did I find her? From my most recent job.
Now those who know me know I can’t stand my most recent employer but we will get into that later this week or next. I have so many headaches but I also had moments where it was rewarding.
Now I was working and my day was one of which I was ready to clock out. I had a call come in from Samantha about her sister Alexis. She told me she wanted to switch plans because her sister needed the best to ensure she could get the best care possible. Now we are out of OE ( open enrollment ) by this point but I was like let me see if I can find the application at least.
Now I’m real big on if you’re going to be an a$$ then I’m not about to help you. I’ll do the bare minimum. That job literally paid peanuts. BUT again we will get into that later. However I said that to say this. Samantha had this vibe in her voice. Like she was tired but really needed some good news. I did what I could and found the application for her sister. She did pass the phone to Alexis so I could verify info and get permission to speak with Samantha so don’t come for me on that. I found the application and asked our (un)lovely sme’s ( subject matter experts ) if there was anything that could be done to switch the plan that was currently selected. Of course they gave me the same no help robotic responses. Now with OE over there’s a few ways to get out of a plan or the insurance! One of those being a QLE ( qualifying life event ) and when I mentioned that Samantha started saying what was wrong with her sister and that if I can go on google and look her sister up.
As mentioned there was just something in her voice that made me want to try. So I looked Alexis up and let me tell you my heart broke and shattered for this girl. I’m a girl mom so just thinking what if’s was hurting. Even now as I type this I’m fighting tears again. Just looking at pictures and watching videos I could see how much these vaccines took from her. Talking with her sister I could tell how much the family was hurting. I went and exhausted my resources while talking with Samantha trying to find a way to help. Literally was on the call over an hour and I was totally fine with that because I wanted to help and give them some hope.
I managed to email a few departments and you best believe I kept checking for updates as well as updating Samantha when I could. Now I don’t give my number out at work but I saved hers and tried to give her info while I was still employed by that company.
If you go read her story and you actually have heart then you’ll understand why my emotions got involved and why I felt the need to help as much as I could. As a mom, having your kids hurting or battling something you can’t stop or fix fast enough hurts. Me seeing that broke me. I saw how happy she was and she’s still trying to be happy while dealing with this at such a young age.
Samantha texted me letting me know what was going on and the status of things now and I let her know I am no longer with that company and you best believe I’m giving her all my tips tricks to try and get some resolve from that company lol.
Just real quick, I was employed by a third party for a health insurance company that is based in California.
Now I’m not going to drag this on because I know a lot of people have a short attention span. But I would love that whoever comes across this to look her up and share her story. This thing that happened to her could happen to anybody.
